How to Convert number to a string in TypeScript
In this tutorial, we are going to learn how to convert a number to a string in TypeScript with the help of examples.
Consider, we have a following number:
a = 25;
Now, we need to convert the above number to a string like this: 25 to “25” .
Using Number.toString() method
To convert a number to a string, we can use the Number.toString()
method in JavaScript.
Here is an example:
const num:int = 25;
const result:string = num.toString();
console.log(result);
Output:
"25"
In the example above, we are calling a toString()
method on a number. So that it returns the number in string format.
Similarly, we can also convert the number to a string in TypeScript by adding an empty string (''
) in front of a number.
Here is an example:
const num:int = 25;
const result:string = '' + num.toString();
console.log(result); // "25"
In the above code, we have added the ''
empty string infront of a number. So, the TypeScript converts the number to string.
