How to fix the node command not found issue in Nvm

In this tutorial, we will learn how to solve the node command not found issue.

When you install the node.js using node version manager (nvm) and trying to use node in your terminal you’ll see the following issue.

➜  ~ node -v
zsh: command not found: node

This issue occurs when you don’t set any default node version in nvm.

To fix this issue, you need to run the following command by replacing with your node version number.

nvm alias default 12.14.1

Here 12.14.1 is my node version number.

To view your currently installed node versions use:

nvm list

Output:

$ nvm list
         v8.11.5
->       v10.0.0
         system
