How to get length of a Vector in R

In this tutorial we are going to learn about, how to get the length of a Vector in R language.

The length of a vector means total number of elements present in a vector.

Getting the vector length

To get the length of a vector, we can use the built in length() function in R.

The length() function takes the vector as an argument and returns the number of elements present in it.

Here is an example, that gets the length of a vector stored in the fruits variable.

# vector of strings
fruits = c("apple", "bannana", "grapes")

# getting the length
result = length(fruits)
print(result)

Output:

[1] 3
