How to reverse a list in Python
In this tutorial, we will learn about how to reverse a list in Python.
Using reverse() method
To reverse a list in python, we can use the built-in reverse() method.
Here is an example.
mylist = ['a', 'b', 'c']
mylist.reverse()
print(mylist)
Output:
['c', 'b' , 'a']
Note: The above reverse()
method modifies the original list instead of creating a new one.
If you don’t want to modify the original list, we can use the slice syntax by passing the step of -1
and leaving the beginning and end positions.
Example:
mylist = ['a', 'b', 'c']
reversed_list = mylist [::-1]
print(reversed_list)
