In this tutorial, we are going to learn about how to repeat a string n (number) of times in PHP.

Repeating a string

To repeat a string n number of times, we can use the built-in str_repeat() function in PHP.

The str_repeat() function accepts two arguments, first argument is the string we need to repeat and the second argument is number of times we need to repeat that string.

Here is an example, that repeats the string “apple” 3 times:

str_repeat("apple", 3);

Output:

appleappleapple
