How to check if a array is empty in PHP
In this tutorial, we are going to learn about how to check if an array is empty or not in PHP with the help of examples.
Checking array is empty
To check if a array is empty or not, we can use the built-in empty()
function in PHP.
The empty()
function returns true if a array is empty; otherwise it returns false.
Here is an example:
$cars = array();
if (empty($cars)) {
echo "array is empty";
}else{
echo "array is not empty";
}
Output:
"array is empty"
Similarly, we can also check it by using a count()
function in PHP.
$cars = array();
if (count($cars) == 0) {
echo "array is empty";
}else{
echo "array is not empty";
}
