How to fix the npm ERR! missing script: start in Node.js
In this tutorial, we are going to learn about how to fix the start script missing error after running an npm start
command in the Node app.
When we use a npm start
command without defining it inside the package.json
file scripts
object we will see the following error in our terminal.
➜ npm start
npm ERR! missing script: start
npm ERR! A complete log of this run can be found in:
npm ERR! /Users/saigowtham/.npm/_logs/2020-07-27T05_56_13_752Z-debug.log
To fix this error, we need to add a start
script with the entry point to the package.json
file.
"scripts": {
"start": "node app.js"
},
In my case the entry point is app.js
, in your project it will be some other file.
The entry point is a root file of your project.
