How to specify a Node Version in Netlify

Learn, how to specify a node version in netlify builds.

Initially node version is determined by the preinstalled version of sites selected build image.

Specifying a node version

To specify a node version, we need to create a new file called .nvmrc in our root directory. Inside the .nvmrc file we need to specify a node version number like 10 or 13.2.3 etc.

Example:

echo "10.18.0" > .nvmrc

This above command creates a .nvmrc file and adds the version number 10.18.0.

Now, if you push your code to the production, netlify starts building your site by selecting your specified node version inside .nvmrc file.
