How to get the length of a array in Go
In this tutorial we are going to learn, how to find out the length of a array in Go language.
The length of an array means total number of elements present in a array.
Getting the array length
To get the length of a array, we can use the built in len()
function in Go.
The len()
function takes the array as an argument and returns the number of elements in a array.
Here is an example, that gets the length of a cars
array :
package main
import "fmt"
func main() {
cars := [4]string{"bmw","benz","audi","skoda"}
length := len(cars)
fmt.Println(length)
Output:
4
Note: In Go arrays are fixed sizes, once we create an array it can’t be changed later.
