How to remove the duplicate values from an array in C#
In this tutorial, we are going to learn about how to remove duplicate values from an array in C#.
Consider, that we have the following array.
int[] a = { 2, 3, 4, 4, 5, 6, 6};
Now, we want to remove the duplicates from the above array.
Removing the duplicate values
To remove the duplicate values of an array, we can use the Distinct()
method from System.Linq
in C#.
Note: The Distinct()
method returns the distinct elements from the array. If the given array is empty it returns ArgumentNullException.
Here is an example, that removes the duplicate values from the following array:
using System;
using System.Linq;
class RemoveDuplicates {
static void Main() {
int[] a = { 2, 3, 4, 4, 5, 6, 6};
int[] result = a.Distinct().ToArray();
Console.WriteLine(String.Join(",", result));
}
}
Output:
2,3,4,5,6
